## Transcript

Welcome to the podcast today.
We're just a couple days out of the United States midterm elections and the Democrats are planning a wave of AI bills on data center costs and on model testing.
We'll get into some of the specifics there.
Perplexity has just launched TeamMate, which are basically like Dots or Muse or any of these other clawed open clock type competitors.
We have Meta that has just rolled out real-time voice and expressive avatars in the Muse app.
And Thinking Machines has just launched inkling too small which is a 594 billion moe model which is on tinker We also have OpenAI debuting GPT-6 Cyber.
This is going to be for cybersecurity teams that they have vetted.
Google is shipping Gemini Omni 2.1 Flash.
They have some video and some price cuts that are in all of that.
Anthropics Cloud is helping solve the first vault particle structure in the Prokoroats, which is really impressive when it comes to science.
Airbnb is also planning their own AI travel agent for the first half of...
Next year, we're going to get into some of the specifics there.
Before we get into all of the news and break it down today on the show, I wanted to mention if you're looking to grow or scale your business or career, with AI tools, I would love for you to check out the AI hustle school community.
This is something that every single week I record a bonus video in here that I don't post anywhere else.
And it's usually me breaking down how I'm using different software tools and strategies to grow my businesses with AI.
So I talk about how I was able to get millions of impressions on Google with AI for SEO.
I talk about how I was able to do different side hustles that can make thousands of dollars a month passively using AI.
So all the different things that I'm trying, the things I do on the side, the ways that I'm growing companies like AI Box and others, I post all of it here.
It's $19 a month to join.
There's over 1,300 members all talking about what they're currently building in the space.
So if you want to join a community of over 1,300 members building with AI, it's only $19 a month.
I'll leave a link in the description to the AI Hustle School community.
Let's kick off talking about some of the implications of the midterm elections where we had the quote unquote blue tsunami where the liberal Democrat.
took control of the House and Senate and some of the proposed AI bills that have come down the pipe based off of that.
So one of the big ones we have Senator Chuck Schumer, he said that protecting consumers from energy costs linked to data centers is one of the big things that he's going to be focusing on.
Next up, Perplexity is launching Teammates.
These are AI agents and it's only for their max subscribers.
It's just like ChatGPT Dots.
or Meta's Muse, right?
It's these open claw, basically clone tools that have come out.
I would expect all the big labs to at a minimum do this, right?
And I've talked to people that are working with Google and Microsoft, and they're all working on this and they all have versions of this out.
However, I think that the real winners in the space are not just these open claw accounts that have their own virtual private machines, but it's really the people that are able to control your computer, which is right now Chad Chippity and perplexity, or sorry, Chad Chippity and Claude with their you know, ChatGPT codex and Claude Code and kind of how they're able to do that.
Those are the most useful tools, in my opinion, at this point.
But Perplexity has launched teammates.
It's further $200 a month to your people.
It's, in my opinion, tricky when you're competing with someone like Meta, who's...
basically offering this exact same feature for free for everyone with Meta's Muse.
And Zuckerberg has said in the past that he plans on monetizing Meta's Muse in a unique way, which isn't just to make people pay monthly, but basically like if you're using it to buy things, there maybe will charge like a three or 4% commission on top of whatever you buy through Stripe or something like that.
So there's ways that they're planning on monetizing it, but right now it is free.
And I think maybe they'll have some paid tiers, but $200 a month to be able to do what...
Meta's Muse does for free.
In my opinion, it's a little bit expensive, but good for perplexity for launching this and staying in the news cycle.
Speaking of meta, they have just rolled out real-time voice and expressive avatars in 4, their Muse app, which means that you can have voice chats with it, and they are super, super realistic.
You're going to have hundreds of different voices that you can pick from, which is, I don't know, if you're comparing this to Chachipti, it gives you six options.
I think a lot of people will be...
happy about that.
And this is only for US users right now.
This works on the web and the Mac app that they have.
And with all of this, there's also real time avatars that are like talking to you, they have gestures, there's, you know, voice only side by side, full screen views, you get voice on AI glasses and on Muse charm, both of those will be coming soon, although we don't know exactly when they'll come out.
Overall, I'm excited when We see the labs start to put out features, right?
I think all of these features are basically already out in one way or another with the voice stuff with OpenAI, but I'm excited when we start seeing other people put them out.
Speaking of new labs in the mix, we have Thinking Machines that has just put out Inkling 2 Small.
So this is going to be their 594 billion MOE model on Tinker.
MOE means it is the model of experts.
So when you ask it a question, it has these smaller models that are quote unquote experts.
This is a concept that was really popularized, I think from...
Maybe DeepSeek did a lot on this a couple of years ago.
So this is definitely isn't cutting edge in any way, shape or form, but I'm excited to see a new lab start putting this stuff out.
It's all going to be, I think it's going to be Apache 2.0 that are going to come out in the next week once they finish red teaming.
So they're open sourcing this stuff essentially are releasing these as open weights, open models for people to use, which I think is very generous.
And when you're, you're not the cutting edge, I think that's the only way to grow.
We saw Meta do this and all of this is coming at a time when apparently they're looking.
to raise funding.
I think that they have about $5 billion.
They're trying to raise it about a $40 billion pre-money valuation.
It's not finalized, but Business Insider has been reporting on that.
Apparently, the main reinforcement learning phase for this took nine days on 2000 GPUs, covering 1000 steps and more than 17 million rollouts.
It did pretty well on the SWE bench.
pro v2 hard it got 86.3 percent it got 81 on the mmmu pro and it got 70 on job bench so this thing is i mean from the last version it's way better but of course this isn't the cutting edge they're not you know competing with open ai and anthropic yet but i'm excited i think Honestly, they're punching way above their weight compared to even a lot of the other big, you know, Fortune 500 companies that don't have models this advanced coming out yet.
So I'm excited.
Speaking of new models, though, OpenAI has just debuted a new one called GPT-6 Cyber.
Now, this is a feature that is only going to be for vetted companies that are vetted Daybreak Red security teams.
particular model that they have actually found 81 different vulnerabilities that were new no one really knew about them in Firefox and they did that during testing and it's going to ship with some new identity checks it's going to make sure that no one's misusing it their worst fear is that they have this cyber security model that can it's like good at hacking and finding vulnerabilities and it's going to get into the wrong hands with someone inside of North Korea or China and it's going to be used for a bunch of exploits so they don't want that to happen and because of that they're trying to be very very tight with who they're giving this to.
It was developed in that it also developed and validated a really critical remote code execution bug in the Bratley compression library.
So this thing is quote unquote dangerous, but they're announcing a bunch of big partnerships.
They have one with operational technology security firm Dragos.
There's a bunch of new safeguards that they're rolling out and they're trying to make sure this is only used for good things.
I'm actually really, I think this is a smart move by OpenAI.
I mean, essentially, You know, they go out and say, hey, look, our model's super, I mean, really, Anthropoc was the one that led the charge on this being like, hey, our model's like super dangerous.
It's going to, you know, hack the world.
If you want to make a lot of money, the best thing to do is scare everyone to saying your model's going to hack the world and then say, oh, look, we have OpenAI, GPT-6, Cyber, and you can go fix all the problems that our unreleased model could find.
And maybe that's a little cynical.
And these, you know, these new models are able to find these things.
created a tool for that.
But however you want to put it, this is definitely going to be something that drives a lot of revenue, specifically in enterprise, which is what they're focusing on right now.
Google has just shipped Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash.
It's a new model.
It has 15 second video built into it and it has a 30%.
price cut.
So this is a video model.
It's adding multi-turn conversational editing.
It's adding tighter references.
And yeah, they're dropping the price.
It has 720p video.
It's available in Gemini API and inside of their cloud.
I'm excited when it feels like, you know, OpenAI dropping sore and saying, look, we're not going to focus on video.
We don't have the compute for it.
We don't have the time for it.
It feels like every one of these AI models really has something to excel at.
OpenAI right now, I mean, it kind of does everything, but they're crushing on video, you know, Anthropics not even doing video.
So opening, I feel like they're really dominating that Google has an auto banana, but in my opinion, opening eyes really winning the image right now.
And now then we have Google come in and Google is apparently picking up the baton where opening, I dropped it and going to be really taking over the video and throw up like one for code.
So it's interesting.
They all converge and they all got to compete and they all essentially tried to sometimes do the same things, but I do like to see that there's, we stand out.
standout features or modalities that these companies really tried to chase to make sure that they can stay competitive and relevant.
There is a new update from Anthropic.
The clot has basically helped solve the first vault particle structure in the prokaryotes.
In under four months, Anthropic's life science team screened relatives from 15 billion predicted proteins and resolved a 96-copy FagVault by Cryo.
I'm definitely not a science guru by any means, but I'm really excited to see that they're running these types of projects.
This one took them four months and they basically have a purification step that conventionally takes about three days and they were able to cut that to 90 minutes.
So anytime they can find in science and in healthcare these ways that they're able to...
speed things up and we're, you know, able to able to make new discoveries in science and healthcare.
I'm really excited.
And so I'm applauding Claude for focusing on that.
Airbnb is planning their own AI travel agent.
This is going to come out in the first half of next year.
It's interesting.
And I'm actually excited about this because it feels like for the for the first little while, every single time open AI or Claude or Google came out with a new model the first thing they did with it was like look at how great it is for planning travel and it's like a use case I almost never used it for but my type of travel is probably a little bit unique so It was never something I was really that into, although I do have friends that are using like their GrokBots to plan their trips.
I recently talked to a friend that said like he told his GrokBot he wanted to plan the whole trip.
It booked the car, booked the hotel, got the flight, had the credit card on file.
He didn't have to do anything.
It literally did it all based off his specifications.
That is really cool to me.
I had another friend recently who said that using Meta's Muse, he had a flight that was delayed by a few hours or a day or something.
And so in order to...
fixed that.
He had to go cancel the car and request a new one and cancel the parking time.
And all this stuff had to change because of the canceled or delayed flight.
And he told Muse to do it and it just automatically went and did it all.
So I'm really excited.
I think the capability on these are getting a lot better.
But I also think that, you know, we have the big labs doing that.
But a company like Airbnb or maybe Kayak or Expedia that this is their bread and butter, they really should be the ones leading the way.
And if nothing else with a really sick.
MCP that you can connect to that lets you cancel or book or change your Airbnb reservations.
And so for them in particular, I think, you know, it makes sense that they're going to go all in on travel agents.
I think that's, you know, obviously makes a lot of sense for them.
Apparently they're going to launch this in the first half of next year.
They're going to build interfaces specifically for Matt or they, you know, because they have all of this, they're going to specifically build things that work with.
like hotels and booking the services.
And I think that they're going to go and do like experiences next will be what it what it works on.
They said the agent will build each interface from hundreds of travel specific components like maps, photos, calendars and itineraries.
I think their revenue people are worried about Airbnb for a while because people are switching over to hotels.
And admittedly, I've been saying it more hotels.
I used to.
exclusively stay at Airbnb since I was in college basically and now I've been switching over to staying a lot more in hotels.
I also have kids and I like the free breakfast and different things like that definitely help.
However, Airbnb recently rolled out some new rules where they said uh the hosts can't require the guests to take out the trash and strip the beds and clean the dishes and there's a whole laundry list of cleaning items that they can't request the guests to do anymore that they used to which is one of the annoying things about an airbnb and because of that i think more people are using airbnb than ever they're Q3 revenue rose 19% to $4.87 billion.
That was higher than estimates were expecting.
They raised their revenue growth outlook to the high teens.
They were in the mid-teens before.
So I think this is good.
Overall, Airbnb is growing.
I like this as a company.
I'd be curious to see what a travel agent looks like coming from them.
I don't have insane hopes that they're going to crush it, but Airbnb's got...
You know, they have an amazing team.
They're very crack.
They have beautiful design.
So if someone was to do it other than one of the major labs, I think Airbnb would be a great person to do this.
So I am rooting for them, although I don't know, you know, I'm not betting any money that they're going to be the number one travel agent everyone uses.
You know, I guess apprehensive, but optimistic.
All right, guys, thank you so much for tuning into the podcast today.
