# AWS AI Deployment, Tesla Autonomy, and X Infrastructure Shift

As companies struggle to integrate AI, they're increasingly ready to bring in outside help.
And service providers are launching new purpose-built groups to make sure they get it.
On Tuesday, Amazon Web Services AWS launched a new internal organization for AI-focused, forward-deployed engineers.
Engineers on this new team will embed within companies to deploy purpose-built agents, focusing on fast engagements and customer self-sufficiency.
In a post announcing the new org, AWS VP of Frontier AI Francesca Vasquez emphasized that the org would do more than build and maintain requested systems.
Amazon says $1 billion will be committed to the new org, although the figure represents internal Amazon resources rather than a joint venture or conventional investment.
In transportation news, Tesla has begun testing a production version of its CyberCab that has two seats but no steering wheel or pedals in Austin, Texas.
For now, the testing's being done with a safety monitor in the right passenger seat, according to a video posted on X, the social media platform owned by the electric car maker's CEO, Elon Musk.
Now, this test is happening nearly two years after Tesla revealed the design of the CyberCab, which is meant to be a fully autonomous robo-taxi that can be hailed through Tesla's app.
Roughly a year ago, Tesla began testing a Tesla robo-taxi service in Austin with Model Y SUVs that have, at times, used safety monitors.
Tesla has been testing prototype versions of the CyberCab equipped with a steering wheel and pedals in a number of cities around the United States in recent weeks.
It has also been parking hundreds of the vehicles in parking lots in some of those cities, sparking speculation that the company was finally going to launch a truly scaled-up robo-taxi network.
One of the hurdles to realizing that idea is likely about to be removed.
You see, last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed a proposal that would not mandate brake pedals in vehicles designed to be driven exclusively by automated driving systems.
The proposal is still in the public comment period, but it is expected to go through later this year.
And finally, X is making it easier for AI assistants like Clawed, Cursor, GrokBuild, and other model context protocol, MCP-compatible apps, to connect directly to the platform through a new hosted MCP server.
You see, MCP, for context, is an open standard that defines a common way for AI models to connect to external tools and services.
Previously, if developers wanted an AI assistant like Claude or Cursor to access X, they'd have to build their own MCP server, host it, connect to the X API, and handle the authentication.
Well, now X hosts the MCP and users authenticate with their own X accounts permissions.
This allows developers to save the time spent on integration work to focus on whatever it is they're actually building.
Developers have long been able to search X, read posts, look up users, analyze conversations and trends, and do more using the platform's API.
The hosted MCP doesn't add new capabilities on that front, it just makes them easier to expose to AI applications.
By doing so, X can position itself as an information network filled with real-time data to retrieve and analyze, rather than just a social hangout.
